Internet sur iMac G5 LENT

Bonsoir à tous,

matos : iMac G5 OSX 10.3.8 1.8Ghz 1Go RAM 160Go DD connexion ADSL
3Mbits/s

Safari & Mozilla (et toute connexion à Internet en général) sont
affreusement LENTS !!! L'affichage des pages prend plusieurs secondes
(entre 5 et 10).

Est-ce dû à des préférences que je n'aurais pas virées ?

Pour info, je suis en DHCP pour la connexion Internet via l'Ethernet
intégré. Je précise que c'est du DHCP car le routeur/hub utilisé (un
Phillips CPWBS154) sert aussi à la TV sur ADSL. A noter que cette
connexion télé est éteinte alors que je constate les problèmes de
lenteur ...

J'ai mis les deux antennes de la station en opposition de phase,
c'est-à-dire qu'elles sont couchées et se "regardent" l'une l'autre;
ceci afin d'atténuer le signal émis et reçu ... et éviter ainsi un
éventuel piratage de la liaison Wi-Fi.

Le download de fichiers s'effectue à une vitesse normale pour ma
connexion (3Mbits/s), ce qui me fait penser que je ne suis pas piraté...

J'ai téléphoné au HelpDesk de Belgacom, l'opérateur belge. La ligne est
parfaite; le rapport signal sur bruit est excellent.

J'ai rebranché mon vieux 7500, la liaison est aussi rapide qu'elle
l'était auparavant, les pages s'affichent rapidement.

A priori il n'y a pas d'erreur de transfert / collision de paquets.


La seule conclusion envisageable (à mes yeux) est une configuration
inappropriée de l'iMacG5

Si vous avez des suggestions , n'hésitez-pas ! ... :-)

Je suis prêt à parier sur une mauvaise configuration des serveurs DNS.
Malgré le DHCP, il est normalement possible de les choisir en statique.
