[Ubuntu] pb de montage d'un disque dur usb externe (sda: assuming drive cache: write through)

Bonjour.

Ce disque dur externe (Lacie, USB 2.0) fonctionnait tr=E8s bien avec la
version 4.10 d'Ubuntu.
Depuis la 5.04, il n'est plus utilisable.

Sympt=F4mes :
- d=E8s l'installation (pendant l'installation), le message "sda:
assuming drive cache: write through" envahit la console environ une
fois par seconde. Il apparait =E9galement d=E8s que le disque externe est
allum=E9.
- disque dur externe non reconnu, ne monte pas
- programme syst=E8me>administration>gestionnaire de p=E9riph=E9riques se
plante d=E8s le lancement
- l'occupation cpu passe =E0 100% au m=EAme rythme que les messages sur
la console, ce qui rend le syst=E8me tr=E8s peu r=E9actif
- tous les sympt=F4mes disparaissent si j'=E9teins le dd (mais comme
toutes les donn=E9es sont dessus...)

Quelques recherches sur google me laissent penser qu'il s'agit d'un
probl=E8me de pilote, mais je n'en ai pas compris plus.

La lecture d'un post m'a fait rajouter uhci-hcd =E0 la fin de
/etc/modules, sans grand succ=E8s : les sympt=F4mes disparaissent, mais
le disque n'est toujours pas mont=E9 ni reconnu (j'ai supprim=E9 ohci-hcd
par la commande rmmod, sinon les sympt=F4mes persistent). Mais en
touchant aux modules, je joue clairement =E0 l'apprenti sorcier : cela
d=E9passe de loin mes connaissances.

C'est =E0 peu pr=E8s tout, n'h=E9sitez pas =E0 me poser des questions.

Depuis la 5.04, il n'est plus utilisable.


C'est probablement dû à la version du kernel. Revenez à la v4.10
d'Ubuntu ou essayez vous à la 5.10.
L'USB fait l'objet d'une évolution active (en ce moment avec 2.6.12-rc5).

Mais... elle n'est pas encore sortie, si j'ai compris la nomenclature
Ubuntu : dernier chiffre_l_année_.mois_de_l_année.
Repasser en 4.10... oui, c'est surement ce que je devrai faire, à
moins de trifouiller moi-même le système, ce que je ne souhaite pas
(pour différentes raisons complémentaires, dont le fait qu'il ne
s'agisse pas de ma machine, et que je ne peux m'en occuper
qu'épisodiquement, et surtout le moins souvent possible ;-).

Un peu dommage, ceci dit, qu'un bug aussi énorme soit sorti dans une
version stable.
